Bookkeeper Extraordinaire, Part-Time Job Description

SVN | Urban Properties is looking for an extraordinarily organized, hyper-focused and detail-oriented numbers person to run its books and keep track of daily financial tasks. Tasks include managing up to 20 different bank accounts within up to five banks, paying monthly expenses (AP) from said accounts and collecting and depositing receivables (AR). Our firm is seeking a self-starter that can handle accounting for multiple entities and recommend/implement more efficient processes within the organization.

Candidates must possess strong communication skills, be able to take direction, is a quick learner, and must work well in a team environment. Our ideal bookkeeper would have intimate knowledge of a financial management program, such as QuickBooks or Xero, and be able to implement and streamline processes in order to create and maximize efficiencies. Experience in the real estate and/or banking industries is a bonus.

This role will begin with a month of onboarding / training and then will report to the Director of Operations weekly.  It goes without saying (but we’re going to say it), this hire will have access to VERY sensitive and confidential information, so the right candidate will be trustworthy, honest and have a strong moral compass.  

Duties

-       Manage up to 20+ checking accounts (within 5 banks) owned by multiple entities

-       Pay monthly expenses (AP)

-       Collect and deposit receivables (AR)

-       Implement & run a financial management program, such as QuickBooks or Xero

-       Provide monthly PNL statements for multiple entities

-       Assist the Property Management team by monitoring cash-flows of portfolio properties

-       Options to assist the Brokerage firm by analyzing properties’ financial standings 

-       Work up to 80hrs a month (hours fluctuate weekly – heavier the 31st – 8th of the month)
